Jinzhen International Short Film Association
With the generous support of the Ministry of Culture of the PRC, proposed by Roger Gonin (Co-founder and programmer of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival) and Heinz Hermanns (Director of Interfilm), initiated by Guan Er, the Jinzhen International Short Film Association was formally established in Hancheng, China in August 2016.
At present, the members of the Association are festivals and institutions from 26 countries and regions: China, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Burkina Faso, Denmark, Germany, France, Finland, South Korea, the Netherlands, Latvia, Laos, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mexico, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Ukraine, Greece, New Zealand, Italy, United Kingdom and Hong Kong (China).
Mr. Guan Er was elected chairman of the Association. The Academy Award (Oscar) winning director Martin Strange-Hansen, Director of Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival Roger Gonin, Director of Berlin Interfilm Film Festival Heinz Hermanns were elected Vice Chairmen, Ms. Yi Chi Secretary-General of the Association.
The purpose of the Association is to provide an independent, cross-border platform of cooperation, exchange and trading between Asian and Western short film filmmakers Film Festivals and Institutions. Besides screening of films we provide a full range of quality services concerning copyrights, offer legal advice, organise training sessions, especially young emerging filmmakers suggested by our members. Furthermore, by being present at a number of international events such as Short Film Forums, Festivals and markets.
We are committed to support, promote and develop the Chinese short film industry.
Since its establishment in 2016, the Association made possible the first International Film Festival, by providing numerous excellent short films and bringing together an impressive number of human resources.
The establishment of the Association adds splendid charm to this pearl on the West Bank of the Yellow River, providing a powerful driving force to economic restructuring and structural adjustment of Hancheng.
The establishment of the Association is an important measure to carry out the cultural strategy of China’s Silk Road Initiative. It’s sure to enhance the cultural awareness and spiritual civilisation of the people. It facilitates the development of regional, cultural and entertainment industries as well as providing a solid foundation for the tourism industry. It has played a leading and exemplary role in promoting Chinese spirit and telling good Chinese stories.
